Time for Yourself--Is it necessary?

Updated: Oct 4, 2023

Honestly, do you have any alone time at all? Why not? If your like me, your too busy to find the time.....does it really matter anyway?

Why do I need alone time just for me? I'll tell you why. When I don't have regular alone time for myself, I feel rushed, I have no clear direction, I am confused, I am overwhelmed with my life, I am spread too thin, overworked, and often times I am frustrated for no reason at all.

How do you take time for yourself in the midst of all the busy-ness in the middle of a pandemic? It's nearly impossible?!

So, how do I find time for myself? Well I typically, get up super early before anyone wakes up and I write, journal, pray, meditate, read my scriptures, sit outside on my patio in the early mornings, and I focus on that time for myself. Your alone time may be totally different.

You may spend your time playing basketball, going to the spa, swimming, sitting outside at the beach, reading an inspirational book, working out, or riding your bike through the neighborhood. It can be anything that you enjoy. The point is though, you truly should make time for this. It has become a necessary part of my life, if I don't have it, ugh, is all I can say!

Why is this time so important?

Because you must have time to re-energize, re-focus, and re-align yourself for the tasks that you have set for the day. You have to get your mind set for the challenges that you have before you. You must prepare to share your greatest gifts with the world.

I really use this time to focus on my strengths, the areas that I personally desire to grow in, to recharge for my day, to think of ways that I can be a light wherever I go even in the midst of chaos, negative talk, and the world's busy-ness.

Can I see a difference when I consistently make time for me? Yes! What difference do I see in my life? A more balanced life, freedom to be myself without fear, a clear sense of direction, more focus, belief in my self and my abilities, not taking life so seriously, more laughter, and a consistent life virtually free of frustration.

Can you make time for you? If I can do it, so can you. I triple dare you to find time....you can do it! Reach out to me anytime, I am blessed to have you in my life.
